1. Information and education only
Bloombroke ("we", "us") runs bloombroke.com. Everything on bloombroke.com, including prices, charts, news headlines, screens, calculators, share images and the WHATIF certificates, is general information for education and entertainment only.
It is general in nature. It does not take into account your investment objectives, your financial situation or your particular needs, and nobody at Bloombroke has looked at your circumstances.
Nothing on Bloombroke is an offer, a solicitation or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, digital payment token, derivative, currency, fund or any other financial product, or to use any particular strategy. The order of a list, a colour, a verdict, a filter or a result is not a signal to act.
2. We are not a financial institution
Bloombroke is not a broker, dealer, exchange, fund manager, financial adviser, investment adviser, research house or bank. We do not hold a capital markets services licence, a financial adviser's licence or any other licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and we do not provide any regulated financial service, in Singapore or anywhere else.
We do not take orders, hold money or assets for anyone, or arrange deals. Bloombroke has no links to buy or sell any investment, and we are not paid by any broker, exchange or product issuer for anything shown on the site.
Using Bloombroke does not create an adviser and client relationship, a fiduciary relationship or any duty of care about your investment decisions.
3. Bloombroke is experimental
Bloombroke is an experimental project. We may change it, limit it or shut it down at short notice. Do not build anything important on the assumption that it will keep running.
4. Data can be late, missing or wrong
The market data, company data, rates, calendars and headlines come from third parties. We do not create them and we cannot check them.
- Prices marked DLY are delayed, often by 10 to 15 minutes or more. Prices marked RT come from real-time feeds but can still arrive late. Some data, like exchange rates, bond yields and economic figures, is only updated once a day, once a week or less often.
- Data can be incomplete, out of date, mislabelled or plainly wrong, and a source can stop working without warning.
- Everything is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it is accurate, complete, timely or fit for any purpose.
Never place a trade, move money or make any financial decision based only on Bloombroke. Check the figures with an official source, such as the exchange, the company's filings or your broker, first.
5. Hindsight figures and calculators are illustrations
- WHATIF shows what money spent in the past would be worth in a company's shares today. It uses hindsight: it picks the result after the fact, ignores costs, taxes, dividends and currency effects, and assumes a purchase nobody could have known to make. It is not a prediction and not a recommendation to buy any stock.
- AFFORD, LOAN and COMPOUND are simple calculators. Their results depend on the numbers you type and on fixed assumptions, such as an assumed yearly return. They are rough illustrations, not forecasts, quotes or advice. AFFORD is about things you buy, like a bike or a laptop. It does not assess investments.
- SCREEN, HEATMAP, MOVERS and similar lists sort data mechanically. Being on a list says nothing about whether something is a good or bad investment.
6. Investing is risky
Investing involves risk. Prices go down as well as up, sometimes quickly, and you can lose all of the money you invest. Some products, like leveraged products and digital tokens, can lose value faster and can cost you more than you put in.
Past performance does not predict future results. A stock that rose in the past can fall, and a return you see on Bloombroke may never happen again.
7. Get advice from a licensed adviser
Before you make any financial decision, think about whether it suits you and get advice from a financial adviser who is licensed or exempt where you live. In Singapore, you can check whether a firm is regulated on the Financial Institutions Directory of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
8. Your decisions are your own
You alone are responsible for your investment and financial decisions and for their results. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using, or relying on, anything on Bloombroke. 9. Where the data comes from
- Prices and charts: CNBC. US stocks: Nasdaq Last Sale.
- RT means real time. DLY means delayed: futures about 10 minutes, indexes about 15 minutes.
- Company data, calendars and the stock screener: Nasdaq. Filings and financial statements: US SEC EDGAR.
- Headlines: CNBC, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance, Nasdaq, Seeking Alpha, the Federal Reserve, BLS, SEC EDGAR, GlobeNewswire, PR Newswire, Business Wire and Reddit (r/wallstreetbets). Each headline links to the original publisher.
- Exchange rates: ECB reference rates via Frankfurter, once a working day. Pairs without the euro are calculated from the euro rates.
- Rates: US Treasury, Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Freddie Mac. Economy: FRED, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Inflation: US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Economic calendar: Forex Factory. Options: Cboe, delayed 15 minutes. Crypto: CoinGecko.
